September 29, 2012 Club Meeting - Sophisticated Stitche Club

Back in June the Sophisticated Stitches club participated in the Artisan Craft Show and Charity Fundraiser at the historic Rolling Green Farm in scenic New Hope, PA. It was an interesting experience for us all. We were dissapointed at the turnout but did our best to make the most of an event that had good intensions but fell short of expectations. We wish the event organizers success in their future endeavors.

The best thing about the event was that we created a knitting basket for charity. We were all pleased to see that a large number of raffle tickets went toward our basket. Though we don’t know who won it, we do hope the receipant will love knitting with the basket items.

In August, instead of the club meeting at the First United Church of Christ in Spring City, we held our meeting at the Spring Ford Dinner in Spring City.

The Diner has a great menu featuring delicious food which is reasonably priced. Good food and good company always make for a great time. We all pledged to have another meeting at the Diner.

Our next meeting of the Sophisticated Stitches club will be this Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the church from 10AM to noon. The demonstration will be on converting a hand knit pattern to a machine knit pattern that can be knitted on YOUR machine. All are welcomed to attend. If you come please bring a 40 stitches by 60 rows swatch, an 18 inch ruler or longer, pencil, paper for writing and a calculator. Hope to see you there.
